On 4 December 2024, the Ministry of Commerce (“MOC”) under the State Administration Council (“SAC”) issued updated guidelines through a new notification (“Notification”) regarding vehicle imports for 2025. This Notification, issued annually, specifies the model years of vehicles permitted for import in the upcoming calendar year. The details are as follows:

This update reaffirms the existing vehicle import policies, providing clear guidelines for importers. Although it is part of the MOC’s annual notification process to regulate vehicle imports, it confirms that the current policies for motor vehicles remain unchanged. The continuation of these policies reflects the MOC’s commitment to maintaining a structured framework for vehicle imports, aligned with Myanmar’s development goals and road safety standards.
