Foreign investment in wholly foreign-owned companies providing logistics services will be permitted from 20th February, 2018, following the promulgation of Government Decree No.163/ND-CP. 

The Government has stipulated certain conditions for trading logistics services. Logistics services are divided into 16 main types, including container loading and unloading (excluding airports), warehouses for supporting transport, transport and customs agencies and shipping.

The decree stipulates that foreign investors can acquire stakes in in Vietnamese enterprises in these sectors, including shipping by inland waterway or rail, provided the stake is below 50 per cent
